Montreal workshop day 1
Posted: June 5, 2012 Filed under: Uncategorized 15 Comments »It’s a bit of a different post today because it’s day one of the first of my summer workshops. The weather took a turn for the better so we were able to paint outside all day which really helped. It would have been quite a different experience had we been inside a classroom! I have to say it was a really fun group of people who were all up to the challenges I gave them and they turned out some wonderful paintings by the end of the afternoon. Today we worked on finding and keeping lights and darks in the painting and tomorrow we will experimenting with wet on wet. I think they are ready for that. As for me, it was a bit of a challenge to paint in front of a crowd and talk at the same time but you can see my demo below, in progress and at the end of the day.

But instead was enjoying this beautiful day on the lake in my kayak and missed seeing you on the campus. Have wonderful day tomorrow and can’t wait for my workshop this summer!
We did have fun Mary! I guess I will really have to plan another day this summer. I will get working on it. You must have really had a gorgeous day on the lake. It was perfect weather.

Looks like you all had a very productive time. But, Shari, I would watch out for those “students”… from what I can see, it looks like some of them are pretty darn good.
They really did great work and I’m anxious to see what happens when I move them out of their comfort zone today. I will post those results too.

HI Monique. It was a best day. Having some drawing experience helps in my workshops.
