Windsock

Macdonald farm in Ste. Anne de Bellevue is always a favourite for me because of all the old farm buildings. Fortunately there were no silage operations going on (like when I held a workshop in June) and there was a perfect spot to set up my easel in the shade.

Another fresh, fluid and beautiful sketch Shari. I like the way the sky has granulated
and those lovely grey greens in contrast. Could you tell us how you achieved them?
Lots and lots of cerulean blue makes all the gray greens (with yellow ochre mixed in) and all that granulation.
I like it, particularly the wires. But I thought that this scene had looked a little more colourful in the past… has a bit of a bleak feel today.
And is that your winter studio parked nearby?
Thanks Ross. I used a limited palette on this one so the colours are more muted than this scene has been in the past. And that is someone else’s winter studio, not mine : )
I love these bright light colours. Looks like a bright windy summer day.
Thanks René. It was a perfect day for painting. Bright and not too hot.
