Vieux Montréal
Posted: October 12, 2012 Filed under: Uncategorized 11 Comments »One of the things I love best about Urban Sketchers is that there is a network of people in many cities around the world who you can invite to sketch with you when you travel to their area. They become, in essence, ambassadors of their city. Today Marc Holmes and I were ambassadors for Montreal. Our visitors were Lee from Florida, who is here giving a sketching workshop at a conference for university and college graphic designers; Nicky who is attending the conference; and Marie-Odile, arriving from Paris after spending two weeks crossing the Atlantic by cargo ship. We sketched on St. Paul St. in the heart of Old Montreal. It was pretty cold to be outside but we toughed it out for a time until we realized that snowflakes were landing on our sketchbooks and then we headed for a café with an outdoor heater and warm drinks.

Lovely post, Shari. I will post a few pictures to my Picasa site soon. It was a lovely day!
Thanks Nicky. It was great meeting you and I hope I spelled your name correctly. I wish you were in the photo but we bailed too quickly for me to get one with you in it. Hope the conference is interesting.
Shari, you look like you are from Paris with your scarf and hat, great sketch, and congratulations on your 366 sketches, we all love them! Please continue.
Thanks Angie. After all those great comments for the one year post, how could I stop?
And a great ambassador you are! Congratulations also on your year of drawing, travel and teaching those of us lucky enough to have discovered your work and have been able to attend one of your workshops. You’ve touched many lives in a glorious way!
Kathleen, you are too sweet. In my one year post I wanted to name all the people I have been lucky enough to meet this year (you being one of them) but I figured if I started to do that the post would never end…
As always I am so impressed with your architectural work that looks so easy to do but I know takes some planning. I hope to be able to meet you sometime in the future-as I mentioned previously, I live in St. Sauveur, perhaps there is somekind of workshop you are giving during the year that I will gladly travel into “the big city” for. Please keep on sketching though, I look forward to your lovely drawings and paintings whenever I open my computor. Gail
I will keep you in mind for the next workshops Gail.
Thanks for the comments!
Wish I had sketchy people to go out with!
You guys are so lucky!
Come up to Montreal to sketch with us!!
That’d be a great sketchy vacation!!!
