Fences

Beautiful Fall colors in the fields there. Love how you made the best of a rainy day.
Thanks Elaine. I got out there before the heavy rain so I was lucky.
I really like the simplicity and near abstraction in this Shari. Also, the composition keeps my eye moving around the painting to the centre.
Thanks John. I wish I could keep everything as simple as this.
This is really good! Not sure whether this is a sketch or a painting but the labeling isn’t really important anyway. It looks so spontaneous and feels really fast… how long did this one take?
It’s small (12 x 18 cm) but it’s done on a sheet of paper so what category does that fall in? I think this took about 1/2 hour but I’m not quite sure. I was out for a while but sometimes it takes me a little while to find something I want to paint.
Now, you are just making things difficult… for a while, they were easy to put into a category (mostly sketches lately) but this one is too hard to call. The size and speed suggests a sketch but the medium and the end result says painting. Do you have an opinion?
BTW, it looks larger than it is.
I think it’s a little painting.
I really enjoy the fluidity of this “sketch”. Do much depth with seemingly so few strokes. The simplicity belies the skill involved. Lovely!
Thanks Alison!
Nice job Shari. It perfectly captures “fall” (that coming from a native California “expert”).
Thanks Cathy. The colours are amazing this year. Something to do with the lack of rain.
