Alstroemeria, again
Posted: January 31, 2013 Filed under: Uncategorized 12 Comments »I felt I owed it to these flowers to paint them again. Last week when I posted them on Flickr I called them Freesias! I guess people were too polite to tell me, or no one knows the difference, but here and now, I stand corrected.
11″ x 15″, Fabriano cold press paper, 300lb.

Would love to watch you paint this as a demo. The vertical lines throughout are lovely. The water in the vase also lovely. Flowers are very complex. (Interested in giving a workshop on doing flowers?) Love the cool tones throughout. A sight for sore eyes on this bitter January day.
Hi Valerie. Can you take a day out of your busy learning schedule for a workshop. I would love to give a class on flowers. Now that I have Barcelona scheduled I am thinking about the other workshops that I will give this spring/summer. I will add this to the list.
Dear Shari,
I hope you are well. How much is the Alstroemeria painting?

Hi Louis. Nice to hear from you.
I will send you an email instead of responding about price on the blog.
Beautiful!
Thanks Mrs. P!!
Really terrific Shari.
Thanks Wayne! It’s great to hear from you. Hope all is well on the West Coast and that you are having an easier winter than we are.
absoutely lovely!
Thanks so much Sue!
These are beautiful. It is motivating me to paint some flowers again.
Thanks Gail. I don’t usually paint flowers. Flowers + watercolour = cliché
But these days it is so cold outside that I have been doing more indoors and I really felt I needed to see greenery. And I have been enjoying doing these. The next one will be wet-in-wet since I haven’t done that yet. Unless the flowers die first.
