You are amazing Shari. I love your paintings so much.
Thank you Tien Dat. I miss having you in class this semester.
awwwww that’s so sweet. We are so missing you Shari!!! You are my Miss InDesign!
Por favor, tiene videos de su trabajo?
Buenas dias Gabriel. No tengo videos de mi trabajo. Maybe one day in the future…
These paintings are absolutely stunning!!! You never told our class that you were such an accomplished and talented artist, Shari!
Thanks Benoit. Actually I thought I showed you my sketch blog on the first day of class. But it’s nice to find surprises, isn’t it?
love the style used. love the look, great job Shari.
HI SHARI, SAW YOUR WRITE UP IN THE GAZETTE YESTERDAY, AND I JUST LOVE THOSE BEAUTIFUL WATER COLORS YOU PAINTED, ALWAYS WANTED TO PAINT MYSELF.
IS YOUR W/C ARE FOR SALE ??? LOVE TO OWN ONE,
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, CIAO RITA
Hi Rita. Thanks so much for your great comments. Watch on the blog. I will soon post a section on paintings for sale.
I read Susan Semenak’s article in Saturday’s Gazette and wanted to see more. Only one word: Wow!
Thanks Martin. I so appreciate all the comments after the article.
This is the first time I’ve had a chance to get to your website (though I saved the Gazette article & snipped the “coordinates” that day!
Watercolour isn’t the most forgiving medium – your sketches (and the paintings in THIS section) are magnificent.
Thank you Robin. It’s great to hear that you like the work!
I saw the article on you in the Gazette May 26th. Very impressive. Love the looseness of your line art. I’m just replying now because we were away on vacation in Tuscany and just got back.
I managed to do a dozen watercolors while there. Oil is my preferred medium but watercolor is a close second. Would love to meet you one day. We’re close neighbors in Pointe-Claire.
Would love to be your friend on facebook.
Again. Your drawings and watercolors are just delightful to see.
Of course I know your name from being in the graphic design business for so many years in Montreal. Your paintings are beautiful and how lucky you are to be doing this full-time. I am jealous! I would love to meet you and see your watercolours from Tuscany. I just returned from giving a workshop in Paris. I’ll friend you on Facebook and then we can get together in person.
Hi Shari, Helmut was talking about your work today at Plein Air. I can see why. Fabulous work. Look forward to seeing more. Linda Drewry
Hi Linda. That is so sweet of him to mention me. I live his work! Maybe one day I can join all of you on a Tuesday.
Shari, I also mentioned your name yesterday.to Tex Dawson, who is an ex architect and current artist. We were painting on location in Hudson. You would like Tex’s drawings.
I will look him up when I get back to quicker Internet. And I hope to join you on a Tuesday when I get back. Where are you going next week?
The plein-air next week is at Coteau-du-Lac, historical park.
I’ll try to send you the plein-air list on e-mail. I’ll go weather permitting.
Thanks for the list Helmut!
I had kept the Gazette article and just found it as I wanted to reply to it. I bought one of your aquarelles many, many years ago when you had an exibition at St-Gaétan’s church. My mother Jackie was the weaver at the same time. I just loved what you did then and love it even more now. Diane Paterson.
Hi Diane! That is so funny. What is the painting that you have? I’d be curious to know. So glad you sent me a note! And glad you like the work.
Hi there! I have two of your paintings. The one I had bought is a house on a lake the colours are blue and green. The other one my mom had and it’s three big flower containers with I think could be impatiants pink, white and purple. They are on a white plank of wood resting on a construction brick. My mom past away three years ago this month and always cherished it. Now I have the pleasure of it hanging on my wall. I to live in the West Island. I wish I could paint I even tried a class with Hemut Gerth some 30 years ago… I would love to see your work. Sincerly, Diane.
I envy your talent!
Thanks for visiting Jean.
Your work is awesome !!!
Shari you do amazing things with water colors. Congratulations on being freshly pressed. Keep sketching and painting, you have a gift.
Thanks so much!
Your paintings are amazing, especially the Blue Garden – very talented w/your light and shadows. Congratulations for such an impressive portfolio. Mary
Thanks so much Mary!
I love the simplicity and the graphicdesigner touch in the composition of your paintings. Really lovely and inspiring work! Blue Garden is my favourite. Have a nice week :)

I am a huge fan !!!!
Thanks so much Anu!
Gasp!!! You have updated this page! And with a great selection of paintings. Wait a second…
Just as I thought… still haven’t updated the Workshop page or added the FAQ page… that would have been too much to hope for… wouldn’t want to rush these things, would we? : )
I am surprised you didn’t chastise me for not putting sizes and titles on those paintings. That is coming soon, as is the workshop page. Just finalizing the details for this summer.
Shari, your paintings are so amazing. I’ll join USK Barcelona. As I saw you are an instructor, I was so glad that I was able to book your workshop. :-) Jutta
Jutta, did you get in? It sold out in a few hours. Were you among the lucky ones?
It’s great to hear from you! Of course I sell my work.
In fact I am part of Lakeshore Association of Artists and there are two shows a year.
I will put your name on the mailing list so you can come and we can catch up.
Hope all is well with you.
Shari, i would like to see your water colors in your next exhibition, i wrote to you a long time ago and saw your paintings in a newspaper i think. please let me know when i can see your collection, many thanks Rita B
I added you to the list. The next show of the Lakeshore Association of Artists will be on September 7 and 8th so I will send you a reminder. Hope to meet you then.
Amazing. Shared on Women Who Think Too Much to give my readers a Sunday eye-candy present. Just beautiful.
you’re so good, i like your style. i have something for you but don’t know if you’re into awards. but whether you accept it or not, you still remain fantabulous! should you like to look into it, here’s the link http://kintal.wordpress.com/2013/09/02/because-youre-fantabulous-award-from-ajay/ :)
Hi Shari: I am so happy to hear of your success. I have been a fan of yours for years since your friendship with my sister Barbara. Some of your early works still hang proudly in our home. Wish I was there to see your exhibit but happy to see some posted here on your website. I love your new work!!!
Cathy, it’s great to hear from you! Yes, this little blog has brought me great joy. I’m so glad you still have my old paintings. The exhibit was great. Windy on the first day but beautiful on the second. Maybe one these days I’ll make a visit to LA!
Yes you should visit LA! Plenty to sketch here- from ocean vistas to mountains from big cities to little quaint towns. It would be great to see you.
Love your sketches and paintings, just beautiful. Having a daughter who is also an artist, I appreciate other peoples art styles.
Thanks so much Betty.
i live in France (so sorry for my bad english…) i take a look to your blog every day since i discoverd it. Thank your for sharing, i like your sketches and painting \(^-^)/ !!
Merci beaucoup Rachel. Je suis contente que tu aimes les dessins. Merci de m’écrire en anglais, mais je comprends le francais aussi!
I love the way you paint <3 great job
I love your work. You seem to have found the perfect balance between simplicity and detail-ivity. That should be a word.
WOW! I´m a spanish surveyor and I find this site searching surveyor images, I like your surveyor painting very much, but when I saw others…you are very talented person, because I can see more than only the pictures, your paint have lot on sensitivity, deep…they make my heart goes fast, really, the shades…beautiful! Next summer I will live in Canada, and I hope I can buy one for can see it in live every day in my house, I had your e-mail in save.
I just saw your work on a 2014 calendar from the Christian Science Mother Church in Boston, MA. Your work is BEAUTIFUL. I’m going to search your site some more to see if you have large pieces. Again, BEAUTIFUL!
Thanks so much Stacey! That was a wonderful calendar to do and now that it’s printed it looks really beautiful. Glad you found me!
Your paintings are beautiful! I saw a picture of your tulips watercolor. Would that painting be available?
Thanks so much Susan! I have so many flower paintings. Do you happen to have a link to the image or a jpeg of it.
If not I can send you some flower painting jpegs but if you remember it that will be easier.
I love your paintings as they are used in the small Tenacre desk calendar. I particularly love the
one of sailboats resting in harbor, used for the month of July. Is that painting or a similar one available?
Hi Joan. Thanks so much! That sketch is not available but if you look at my post from June 9 I have a similar painting that is for sale. If you like it I will let you know the price.
Thank you. While the June 9 sketch is lovely, like all of them, there is something special about the other that I particularly like. I’ll continue looking and discovering more of your works.
Thank you, Shari,
In the meantime, is there any way of knowing if and when that painting should become available? You can see that my heart is set on this one. Many thanks.
That painting is in a sketchbook and I don’t cut pages out of the books. That’s why it’s not available butane day I may go back to that spot and paint it again.
Thank you for the explanation. It makes perfect sense. I’ll just enjoy this one in my calendar.
Really like the way you paint rocks………any quick tips at all?
Look at the way the light hits the rocks. There’s usually a light side, a middle value side and a very dark side. If you can capture that you are well on your way.
Are there any fall workshops with you available yet? I would love to be able to take a workshop with you. and…what sketch pens do you use in the pen and ink? i noticed a couple in more of a grayish shade. Your sketches make may day. I do paint watercolors, but hate to sketch…..they help me see how I can improve by sketching. You are amazing in your creativity of what normally would be perceived as just normal everyday scenes!! Mary King
Unfortunately I only give workshops in the summer. I teach in a college during the school year so I have no time to spare for extra teaching.
You’ll have to wait until next summer.
I have a question. An artist sticks on to a particular style of sketching and another artist tries different styles of sketching. Who will explore more in their life?
Good question and I don’t know the answer. Of course I have ideas about this but before I answer, are you asking because my work looks different all the time?
Really love seeing your work. Thanks for posting all these photos for us to enjoy.
Your Paintings are realling Beautiful…and its calming the mind… Thanks for sharing it with us…
Lovely collection of work…..Bx
Thanks for commenting Bix!
…really, really like your work…cj
Thanks so much Carolyn.
My husband and I are fans of your work. We follow your blog and have your lovely little book. We’re going to be in Montreal in a couple of weeks and were wondering if you have a gallery or place where we can see your art.
That’s so nice to hear. Currently I don’t have a gallery that shows my work. I have work two group shows every year and usually sell my work privately the rest of the time. Of course we could arrange to meet if you’d like to see some work. I’ll send you an email.
