One pink lily

Does it ever happen that you go out to sketch and there is just nothing that catches your eye? For me it mostly has to do with the light. If the day is cloudy and the light is flat I have a very hard time finding something to sketch. I was hoping to paint along the canal in Ste. Anne de Bellevue but the shiny motor boats waiting to go through the locks had no appeal for me after sketching the rusty draggers in Gloucester.  I finally made my way to the pond in Baie d’Urfé. That spot is beautiful in any light.

I love how we see most of the scene in the reflection, rather than staight on. Beautiful!

You’ve created a tapestry of rich, luxuriant colours in this beautiful painting of the Baie D’Urfe pond, Shari.
You should show it to the quaint Town Hall next door. It belongs on their wall 🙂

Gorgeous- this could be in Giverny; it’s not where you are but how you see it!
