Straight to masses

Today’s sketch is one that I did in Eduardo Bajzek’s workshop titled “Straight to Masses”. As the title suggests, we did a drawing without the use of line – working in fat markets only. I’ve used markers before but not quite in this way. It’s a similar massing and flattening of shapes technique that I use in my painting without the graduated washes. Lots of fun and a bonus takeaway package of 15 gorgeous markers.

Nice! What a great exercise. And what fun to use markers. Keep having fun!

Gotta try that! Did you use different types of paper? If so, what worked the best?

And it looks like there are 13 unused markers still in the pack? : )

I love the way you created the shape of the statue. Beautiful. Wish I was there but it sure is nice to at least visit Barcelona vicariously through your sketches.
