Late for class

My first-year students were working on contour drawings of objects on campus — the fire hydrant, a light standard, trees, the church tower — when along came Theebac, one of my third-year students. He slowed down, intrigued by what we were up to, and I’m not quite sure if I asked him to stop for a quick pose or if he offered. I grabbed my pencil and sketchbook, threw down a few lines to capture his compelling gaze, and off he went to class, perhaps a bit late.

This is a beautiful gesture. The quality of your line may fit the quality of the man. I like that you caught the tongue of his right shoe.
