Still life on a windy day

Power outages from the wind have affected me twice today. Once when I started this sketch and had to stop in the middle because I was painting in my basement studio and could hardly see my still life in the semi-darkness. And then again when my afternoon class got cancelled because the power went out at school too and I got to come home and finish the sketch.

That must have been so difficult! All those circles in perspective and things made of glass… very challenging but really well done. And you managed to not hit the edge of the paper. : )

    • Yes, circles are always so difficult. And I had to stop right in the middle. I want to try this again on better paper because this was in my sketchbook and the paper is a bit too thin for these washes.

The woman paints magnificently even in the dark folks! Bring on the night! Amazing, Jacques

I keep coming back to look at this,Shari. I like the composition and the colors are rich and
transparent. I am reminded of Morandi’s still life paintings….with more color!
