Boom or rust?

There were two exciting events in the Montreal area last night. The first was a mysterious, very loud boom and flash of blue light around 8 p.m. The second was our first snowfall of the season. Turns out the boom was most likely a meteorite and since I couldn’t draw that, my sketch today is my rusty wheelbarrow under the oak tree. The tree that always sheds its leaves AFTER the snow falls.

How lovely to see the rusty wheelbarrow again! I think I’ve been following your blog through several seasonal changes, enjoying it every time. Thanks for the lovely art that flies into my email for me to appreciate.

    • Thanks Vicky! Sometimes I think people must be sick of seeing this old wheelbarrow but I love painting it when the snow falls. It brings back good memories of one of the first posts I did two years ago.

  2. I love the pictures of the wheelbarrow as the seasons change around it.

As I was walking last night, I noticed leaves on the path — just barely peeking out from under the snow — and wondered, how would one capture that in watercolour? You have done just that! The first snow beautifully captured. Yes, I like the wheelbarrow too.
