Pocket panorama orchids
Posted: May 1, 2014 Filed under: Uncategorized 14 CommentsI recently bought a new format of the Travelogue watercolour sketchbook called the pocket panorama (8.25″ x 3.5″). It’s the same linen-bound book that I use in a larger size but I liked this really wide format, and I see potential for working two pages at a time. There were no panoramas to draw today so I turned the book on its side and painted a vertical detail of some orchids.
Gorgeous!

Shari, can you comment on the paper? I have decided to stop using Moleskine and need a new aketchbook. Merci

Mike, this sketchbook has real watercolour paper in it. As close as you can get anyway. It is like a 90 lb paper. I like it, but of course not as much as real watercolour paper. It is off-white, and works best with less water rather than more. Definitely better than the Moleskine paper. Buy one book and give it a try. Someone gave me the books as a gift, that’s how I started using them.

I just love it and all your sketches. You have inspired me and like Anna Warren, I’m very fond of the long thin format as well as square. Thank you for your posts. I look forward to them daily.
