Fallen fence
Posted: April 10, 2016 Filed under: Uncategorized 9 CommentsIt makes it so much easier to find a scene to sketch when the lights and darks are clearly defined. Today this fallen fence seemed interesting because of the sunlit wooden slats against the dark tree and wheelbarrow. With the fence down, the wheelbarrow — situated in a dark corner of the yard — gets much more light on it. And with the ground still too cold to work on, it really has no other job to do besides look good. For now, I’m still enjoying the light created by the fence opening, but in a few weeks when gardening season starts, I will probably start to wonder why the neighbour still hasn’t gotten around to repairing it.
Lovely sketch as always …but can’t believe that wheelbarrow hasn’t started asking for appearance money

The wheelbarrow is very kind and poses for free. So far, anyway.

Great sketch, that wheelbarrow has character. Love the dappled light effects.

And a perfect job with the brushpen. I believe you used it but it doesn’t take over the sketch the way my attempts with it always seem to do. Lovely painting.

I like the light that the fence lets in. Nicely done. I love how you capture such “ordinary” views so well.

I am enjoying your use of the brush pen and color. Lovely– a wheelbarrow with character. BTW, I use the name “Maxine Schnauzer” on Craftsy courses and iff you recall, I ask a plethora of questions ( maybe too many) and have learned so much. I am trying to use a limited palette and see this in your work.
Do you have your luggage back yet?
