The last warm day
Posted: October 8, 2016 Filed under: Uncategorized 14 CommentsI spent yesterday afternoon sketching on Mount Royal with friends Marc Holmes (check out his amazing new book!!) and visiting Australian sketcher Jane Blundell. All three of us sketched the fall colours on the mountain top but we couldn’t fail to notice the crowds going by, heading for the lookout. There were so many people in the park that it made me wonder if anyone works on a Friday afternoon in Montreal. Perhaps they were all tourists, here for the long weekend, but I have a feeling most people left work early to enjoy what might have been the last really warm day of the year.
I love this…..beautiful lighting, the whole nine yards!

You make this look so effortless but I have started back with watercolor after years of being away, and it is hard. I try to do a pared down version (very, very pared down!) of your postings. Ha! You do not want to see them! 😀 Your work is beautiful.

Wow. What a talented trio all to be painting together at the same time. Wish I’d been there to see it. Hope you get at least a few more days of sunshine.

You really captured the magical light of this time of year. And as always, the composition is terrific.

Lovely. Shari, I am struggling with fall greens and yellows. May I ask what you’ve used here? It’s very tranquil.
