One thing at a time
Posted: July 13, 2019 Filed under: Uncategorized 16 CommentsI’m packing my bags for workshops in Amersfoort and Amsterdam next week, but before I add in my art supplies, I get out my palette for one last time to paint the berries in the fridge. I’ll admit, I bought too many boxes this week — it’s a good year for strawberries — and these will go bad if I don’t take immediate action. Fortunately I have enough time to paint, pack AND make jam before taking off tomorrow.

The strawberries look delicious! Have a great time in Amsterdam – we were there in April and it was a fascinating place. Watch out for bicyclers.

Nancy, I was in Amsterdam about 8 years ago and I remember looking about 10 times before I crossed the street. Those cyclists are fierce!

Rent a bike! Then the world of Amsterdam is made just for you. Truly, it’s only intimidating when you’re *off* the bike.

Betsy, other people have told me that too but it looks pretty daunting to ride a bike in Amsterdam. I would probably attempt it if I were out of the city a bit, but right in the centre it seems like you need quite a bit of practice to keep up the pace of weaving in and out on those streets.

Yes, Nicole, I am leaving earlier than you because I am teaching a workshop in Amersfoort first. Safe travels and see you in Amsterdam.

Have a safe trip. Looking forward to seeing your paintings. Always wonder how you decide where you are going on a workshop. It all sounds exciting.

Judy, I usually get invited to teach in different places. This time I will be teaching at the Urban Sketchers Symposium in Amsterdam. Before that I will be giving a workshop through the USk workshop program in Amersfoort. I feel very fortunate to have these opportunities.

Glad you caught them in their prime…they look yummy. Have a great trip! I didn’t get into one of your workshops but I am sure I will see you somewhere in Amsterdam. I’m staying a few days after the Symposium and then heading to Paris for a few days.
