At dusk

It was very serene near Lac St. Louis tonight, with only the sounds of the red wing blackbirds and the occasional kayaker going by. I don’t usually sketch in the evening but these days work has been keeping me busy. I much prefer the morning light (and having the time to fix my sketch if need be!). But when I got home and took a look at my sketch in the light I realized what a muddy mess it was! The reason? The darker it got outside the more paint I added to my paper. I think tomorrow I’ll go back to sketching in the morning.
