Orange train
Posted: February 7, 2012 Filed under: Uncategorized 4 CommentsI’ve been wanting to sketch a train for a long time but the problem is they are always moving (no rail yards in my neck of the woods!). So today when I saw this orange train parked on the tracks it was my opportunity. There were obstacles between us like the fencing, a row of trees and an overpass but I pushed ahead, determined to capture my train before it got moving again.

Shari, your continued choice of subject is surprising and fascinating (except for yesterday’s cucumber).
I have to admit that I would have driven past this panorama without a second glance. There is just no way in the world that I would have seen the artistic possibilities that you obviously saw… and so successfully captured.
Sometimes there’s just no time left in the day and the only thing left to draw is dinner leftovers.
It is an interesting subject and quite complicated with the fence, the trees and the overpass. The orange is wonderful and warm. Love it.
Thanks Valerie. I wasn’t sure if this would work out because it was so complicated but I am really happy with the result because it’s an unusual view for me.
