Red chair, revisited

The very first drawing I posted on this sketch blog was a line drawing of this chair. I thought I would revisit it, this time in colour. The reason I picked the chair 125 posts ago was because I had so much experience drawing chairs in university. No, I didn’t study furniture design, but I did have a drawing teacher who required us to draw the same chair every week for the whole course. Imagine that. The same chair every week. It was an exceptional experience and I still have the drawings. So when I wanted to find something relevant to draw for my first post the answer was obvious. It had to be a chair.

Wow, there’s a challenge to keep the same chair looking fresh week after week…

    • It was more complicated than I described in my post. We had to draw everything in our field of vision so as the semester went on the chair got smaller and smaller on the page.

That chair is crying out for a model lounging in it!

Wow Shari. You’re really good. I always loved drawings chairs in school too. I have a whole bunch of them in my sketches. You’re great with proportions 🙂
