Wires crossed

The messy stuff is so much more attractive than the pretty stuff. I’d much rather sketch this tangled mess of wires than a vase of flowers or a tidy cottage. There’s not much interest in that.

The building on the left is Gigi’s Pizzeria, or rather the roof of Gigi’s. And wouldn’t you know it? As soon as I started to paint, a big truck pulled up in front of me, blocked my view and started unloading mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.

Crossed wires

You keep finding these great little “mundane” subjects (please read that as a compliment). Do you spend your spare time these days cruising the back streets of the seedy parts of Montreal?

An excellent composition and rhythm in those wires, well spotted.

I have’nt had the pleasure of patronizing Gigi’s pizza, but think that the truck blocking the lower part of the building was a ‘happy accident’. This is an interesting urban roofscape.
