Front steps

Here is the pretty much finished painting that I started yesterday. The scene was as I left it except for a cushion on the wicker chair and two cats who perched on the stairs and were definitely hoping for a place in the painting. When I scan my work I always see a few things I want to change but for now I will leave it as is.

I enjoyed seeing the painting in two steps…to my untrained eye, yesterdays looked great. The finished product looks greaterer.

Your colour tones are so spot on. I always seem to try to improve the colours, add another layer, but after looking at yours I seem to be overdoing it all the time. thanks for shring the halfway one.

  3. Love this one too – the cats would have been a cute touch, but I don’t really miss them!!

It was so much fun seeing your painting in progress and to anticipate the completion.
i loved all the detail in your plants in the foreground and the flower pot yet it is all very loose
and free with such fresh colour!

Well, you surprised me… when I saw the half finished one, I though “She’s blown it this time.” I was expecting to see a completely new painting today with an excuse about road works in the street or the house being demolished overnight. But this is amazing… I think the people who go to your workshop will be very happy if they can watch this happen in real time.

Let’s just say that I had misplaced concern. : )
I will know better next time.

  7. I love how you draw my attention to the chair with the stairs. Expertly composed. Woooo hooo!

Shari I’m assuming you don’t know the folks who live here? They would be THRILLED to see this beautiful rendition of what they must take for granted every day….do you sell any of these sketches? I am enjoying visiting this page every day and have spread the love on my fb so others can as well.

    • Mona, I am so busy sketching and planning the upcoming workshops that I don’t have much time to market my work. Do you want to be my agent?? But I am trying to do more on paper, like this one, that I can sell. Or have a show… I am trying not to do so many in books. Thanks for spreading the word.
