Circles
Posted: March 6, 2013 Filed under: Uncategorized 13 CommentsI am always looking for repeating elements or patterns in nature that I can use in my paintings to create some sort of rhythm. That’s why I picked this colander to draw today. Little circles within bigger circles, piercing a very big circle sitting on a drain board with circles.

You can get lost in that pattern – around and around. I like those little feet!
Those are funny feet. A bit crooked and wobbly. But when it’s not posing for my drawing, this colander does a very good job with pasta.
Neat. Good thing you had a round pen handy.

Thanks Fleet. You made me smile tonight.
Lol! I read “calendar” and thought: how on earth do you see years months and days on this?
On seeing it again, and realising, I am a tiny little bit disappointed 🙂
That’s very funny Delft. Can’t you see it’s March on there?
Delft – maybe it’s a ‘my own colander’
You’re even funnier than Delft.
My Mom had one just like it. Beautiful.
This is an old one Lee. So old I don’t even remember where it came from. I have another enamel one that was my grandmother’s.
I can’t quite figure out whether it is the white holes or the black holes that still have the pasta stuck in them… I hope this was sketched before you washed it – otherwise you might need to enrol in a workshop for improving washing-up skills. : )
Are you supposed to wash these Ross?
LOL. Only if you want water to run through the holes.
