Come and gone
Posted: May 23, 2022 Filed under: Uncategorized 13 CommentsSummer made an appearance while I was in Santa Fe. It was spring before I left (only a few hyacinths blooming), and it’s spring again, but in the interim there was a heatwave in Montreal, with temperatures exceeding 30°C on some days. Tulips and daffodils bloomed without me, and now I am left with shrivelling stalks waiting to be pruned. Fortunately my favourite early perennials are still here for me to enjoy — lilies-of-the-valley, bleeding hearts and forget-me-nots. I have a whole sketchbook of Santa Fe scenes to post, but that can wait. If it gets warmer again, these flowers will be gone too. Sketched in a Handbook Watercolour Journal, 9″ x 12″.

Just beautiful!!! As usual
Donna, thank you!
Absolutely lovely!
Thank you Bernadette.
I enjoy your posts Shari and your wonderful paintings. I live in Winnipeg ( born and raised in Montreal, then on the west coast for years) the bleeding hearts in the courtyard of my condo are just starting to come up!
Pamela, I hope you paint your bleeding hearts too. They don’t last long!
Lovely and soft🪴🖼
Glad yr trip was a success 👩🎨

Thanks so much Jane. I hope you are well and enjoying the spring/summer weather.
This takes my breath away!
Ahh, Denise, you are too kind.
Love the combination of colors and the design of the bouquet from your garden!
Thanks Joan!
You missed a really weird spring! At least you had these lovely blooms to come home to.
Lovely!
