Peaches
Posted: September 8, 2012 Filed under: Uncategorized 7 Comments »Some days things just don’t work out. I painted this as a double page spread in my sketchbook but the composition was so unsuccessful that I decided to post only one side. For the curious, the other side is a basket of pears.

It is very encouraging for mortals like me who follow your blog to see the occasional day when things don’t go as well for you. Looking back over the last few weeks of posts, the standard has been so consistently high… except of course for the big spider, but that was a failure based solely on choice of appropriate subject. : )
And, what happened to the stockpile? Aren’t there some left there?
I’m glad you feel encouraged by my failure Ross : )
And so glad you like the last few weeks of posts. I always appreciate your feedback, even the spider discussion.
There are some left in the stockpile Ross, but I am saving them for the dark days of winter.
Every drawing doesn’t have to be a finished masterpiece Shari, and often little gems can be found in partial sketches such as this. I love the fragile violet paper wraps with the golden peaches peeking through, making a lively complementary colour contrast
Once again,
so fresh, loose and free!
Always happy to have your encouragement Mary.
This composition certainly works. Such a simple subject, yet the smallest detail on the purple crepe paper shows the ripple texture. Nice colors.
Thanks. The composition works on this half sketch. It was the other half that I cropped out that didn’t work.
