The challenges of a daily sketch

When I started this sketch project I challenged myself to create and post something new every day. Seemed easy to do. But what happens on days when a drawing or painting is just not good enough to post? Like yesterday. My painting was “unpostable”. So I searched through my sketchbook and found the drawing of Hugo that I did last month.

Today I was hoping things would work out better so on a break between classes I closed my office door and voilà. These umbrella twins were waiting for me.

Two umbrellas and some hangers

With your vibrant colours these umbrellas resemble flower buds about to unfurl…..you more than made up for your off day, although I did really like the drawing of Hugo.

Great umbrellas!!! My favorite colors wonderfully wound around their canes. Thanks too for the reminder that good things are often just behind the door – and not necessarily on the ‘other’ side. And ditto in regards to Hugo….he is a great looking dog.
