The challenges of a daily sketch
Posted: February 3, 2012 Filed under: Uncategorized 13 CommentsWhen I started this sketch project I challenged myself to create and post something new every day. Seemed easy to do. But what happens on days when a drawing or painting is just not good enough to post? Like yesterday. My painting was “unpostable”. So I searched through my sketchbook and found the drawing of Hugo that I did last month.
Today I was hoping things would work out better so on a break between classes I closed my office door and voilà. These umbrella twins were waiting for me.

Like Rogers and Astaire . . .
Good one Gerald.
With your vibrant colours these umbrellas resemble flower buds about to unfurl…..you more than made up for your off day, although I did really like the drawing of Hugo.
Thanks John. We need some flower buds these days. I can’t wait for April!
Color, color and more sumptuous color! A visual feast!
Thanks May!
Great umbrellas!!! My favorite colors wonderfully wound around their canes. Thanks too for the reminder that good things are often just behind the door – and not necessarily on the ‘other’ side. And ditto in regards to Hugo….he is a great looking dog.
Thank you Charlin. I like your comment about the door. And Hugo is a great dog, a puppy really. So sweet.
Wonderful composition and colour. Your daily sketches give my day a great lift. Thank-you.
Thanks Valerie. I really appreciate your comments and support.
Unpostable? I don’t believe it! This is awesome and your work always inspires, Shari! Keep it up! Daily is tough but a great habit to have!
Thanks Steven! Daily is tough but you do that too. And your people sketches inspire me.
The colors are awesome — verra nice 😉
