Fences

There are hundreds of Canadian geese in the corn fields at Macdonald farm in Ste. Anne de Bellevue but the rain prevented me from standing out there to sketch them. Instead I painted the fence from my car.

Beautiful Fall colors in the fields there. Love how you made the best of a rainy day.

I really like the simplicity and near abstraction in this Shari. Also, the composition keeps my eye moving around the painting to the centre.

This is really good! Not sure whether this is a sketch or a painting but the labeling isn’t really important anyway. It looks so spontaneous and feels really fast… how long did this one take?

    • It’s small (12 x 18 cm) but it’s done on a sheet of paper so what category does that fall in? I think this took about 1/2 hour but I’m not quite sure. I was out for a while but sometimes it takes me a little while to find something I want to paint.

Now, you are just making things difficult… for a while, they were easy to put into a category (mostly sketches lately) but this one is too hard to call. The size and speed suggests a sketch but the medium and the end result says painting. Do you have an opinion?
BTW, it looks larger than it is.

      • I think it’s a little painting.

I really enjoy the fluidity of this “sketch”. Do much depth with seemingly so few strokes. The simplicity belies the skill involved. Lovely!

Nice job Shari. It perfectly captures “fall” (that coming from a native California “expert”).

Shari, Just found your work, and love it! A friend stayed at an Air BnB recently and this painting was mounted, framed and had some gloss coating in sections. It doesn’t appear that a picture of it can be inserted here, but the finished product was just as appears here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/SHARI-BLAUKOPF-ORIGINAL-PAINTING-FLOWER-SERIES-LEMONS-ON-CANVAS-FRAMED-SIGNED/313246290006?hash=item48eeef1056:g:r7sAAOSwfaZfcPyg.

Are these something you produced or know where to find?

Thank you, and prayers that you will be able to continue your beautiful work for many years to come!

    • HI Laura,
Thanks so much for writing. This painting is canvas reproduction of one of my watercolours. Years ago I licensed images to a company and they had these produced in China. But I no longer work with them so they are not for sale anymore, I don’t think. Of course I can always make prints of my paintings and sketches, but they are on paper and maximum size is 13″ x 19″.
      Warm regards,
      Shari
