The smooth paper in my Moleskine sketchbook is made for pencil drawing. I keep struggling to put watercolour on it but using a pencil on this is no struggle at all.

Excellent! Your pencil sketches, particularly in this book, are really good.
I recall that, a long time ago, in one of your posts, you said you would do a self-portrait… I am sure that I remember that because I thought it would be such a good challenge for you. Now, I am assuming that these are your own shoes/socks that you have drawn and I am just clarifying that this doesn’t qualify as a self-portrait. : )
