Gully Point Cove sketch
Posted: June 21, 2014 Filed under: Uncategorized 7 CommentsWind, water and rocks. There is not much accurate about this sketch and I was going to finish it when I got home (and out of the wind), but decided to leave it as is because it expresses perfectly the day and the setting: wind, water and rocks. I did go back the next day and make a painting of this (which I will post tomorrow) but in some ways I prefer the sketch because it has the energy of that moment. Size: 16″ x 10″.
Wonderful, so glad you left it as is because it’s perfect….love the boldness of the waves and the more than usual detail in the buildings. U R Amazing! Jacques

There was supposed to be more details in the rocks too but I stopped myself when I decided to come back for a bigger painting. Merci mon ami!

I’ve been doing a lot of that lately. I like that format. Try it sometime Monique. It doesn’t mean that you have to fill both pages.

I prefer this/the sketch too….that blustery buffing wind and almost white sunlight…scudding clouds and light etc? I can FEEL it in this one…and again know exactly where you were! Thus I DO have total appreciation of these paintings…and also preferred off the beaten track.
