Limited palette, really
Posted: March 21, 2016 Filed under: Uncategorized 63 CommentsThanks Delta Airlines. My suitcase is still somewhere in luggage limbo, and inside it: my palette, my tubes of paint, my sketchbook and lots of paintings. Thankfully my brushes were in my carry-on bag, along with pens and a tiny travel palette. I am still hopeful it will be found soon and make its way home to me. I can replace everything except the work I did in Savannah and Palmetto Bluff, but it’s a lesson learned, isn’t it? Never leave artwork in the suitcase!
You must feel like you’ve been robbed! Going bananas even! Lovely drawing in spite of it all

I think I should change the title of my post now Anne. That’s exactly how I feel. I have gone through all the stages of emotion on my phone calls to Delta. I am at “resigned” now. Thanks!

I thought the title ‘mini’ bananas, had pretty much covered how well people had stepped into their power to solve this on behalf of the company. : ) full emotional work out complete… good stuff.

I would be terribly upset, sure hope they find it soon.

You always manage to bring us inspiration (brush pen sketches and limited palette) even when working under unexpected limitations. I hope Delta locates your suitcase very soon. Not good PR for them to lose a well-known artist’s paintings. I am looking forward to following all your sketching and painting adventures this summer.

The good news is that most luggage these days is found eventually . I am not on Twitter but people seem to have really great results with complaints getting resolved using Twitter. How about a Twitter campaign to get Shari’s artwork back home ? 🙂

Oh, Shari, that’s awful! I felt sick just reading about your missing artwork. That’s never happened to me, but I can imagine quite vividly how I would feel. I hope your suitcase and all your belongings find their way home to you soon!

Hi Shari,
So sorry to hear that your palette is missing! Blasted airlines! I am so enjoying your paintings. Often I want to respond, however, for some reason my e-mail is not accepted.
I am drawing so many tips and valuable information. I have also taken one of your courses on line and am getting ready to do the second one. Thank you so much. You are a great inspiration.
Cheers,

This is horrible. It really makes me cringe. One of my greatest fears of flying is not flying but losing my “stuff”. Let us know the result.

Supplies can be replaced but sketchbooks and paintings are so personal and irreplaceable.
Here’s hoping Delta comes through!
I’ve lost two sketchbooks over the years and it is still painful to think of them.
I think good karma from your admirers will help them show up!

This is horrible! What a mess…it’s not like it could have vanished into thin air!! Ugh…so frustrating, Shari… Hang in there…I’m sure it will reappear just as mysteriously. But geesh… shame on you Delta.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy, safe return of all your stuff. Losing your clothes is the least of it. Even the paints, palette, paper can all be replaced. But the artwork – how could Delta even begin to compensate you for that? Not to mention the stress you are under while you wait for your suitcase to get home?

Yes, the clothes are the least of it. Just want the sketchbook and the paintings back. Thanks Janine.
