Hudson’s History Garden
Posted: May 28, 2024 Filed under: Uncategorized 11 CommentsIf someone hadn’t told me about Hudson’s History Garden, I would never have found it, so thank you Michele M. for this! The garden is on Main Road but it’s hidden in between two old houses, one of which houses the historical society. I sketched the view from between the houses, looking across at the old building that houses NOVA Maison, but there are plenty of great sketching spots around the garden, and lots of benches too. And as always, when you walk through the town rather than drive, you can see so many little views and alleys that I hope to return to. I will definitely make this a frequent stop on my Hudson sketching outings, especially when there’s more in bloom in the garden.

Whoa, what a wonderful picture! Lovely, lush greenery – just after a spring rain, One feels like stepping into the picture.
I’m fascinated at the juxtaposition of the more detailed building against less-detailed foreground AND less-detailed background. I get so many ideas each time I see one of your paintings!
Just beautiful!!
Wow! Shari! So beautiful 🤩
Ever consider doing a class on trees/foliage?
You do such an AMAZING job with it!
Love the building and the surrounding flowers and foliage!! What makes it a “history” garden?
Nova looks wonderful in real life but immortalized under the spell of your brush and paints..Nova housed beautiful shops.. one being Heidi’s yrs ago..The first I believe June Kennedy’s:)If you notice Piscines Hudson..it was once a movie theatre.I saw Saturday Night Live there..
Lovely painting. Is that near where you live? Odd things attract my eye. I like the penwork on the building on the right. Nice contrast to the roof.
This is lovely-it reminds me of your on-line class “Structure in the Garden”. What a great course that one was, but so aren’t they all!
Excellent painting of the house Shari and overflowing Garden.
Lovely sketch, Shari. I like it there for the quick cover in case of rain. I like what you picked to capture. Hope to see you around town.
Love this natural urban landscape. Soon I will sign up for your Structure in the Garden class to learn more about creating this type of scene. The greens are great!
