On the way there

Someone told me where it was (go right at the road, turn left into the woods, follow the path, etc…) but I never did find it. On the way there I saw this zigzag fence.

I love how you capture these things in just a few lines and dabs. I wish I knew how to do that…
The trick is to stand while you are doing it and also have a few impatient family members hanging around waiting for you. Certainly makes things go faster.
Love your answer—so true. Also, I really like this interesting composition. You have a great eye for finding these gems.
Thanks Vicky!
Good sketch! I think that is the way that I would build a fence if I had plenty of timber and didn’t want to dig post-holes… which I have tried digging and don’t ever want to try again.
Thanks Ross.
Those family members were not impatient!
I was just thinking this morning that I should have said “As a general rule, the trick is to stand while you are doing it and also have a few impatient family members hanging around waiting for you but that was not the case with this sketch. The family was more than patient because I did many sketches that day!”
Funny that you painted a zig zag fence. On Thursday up at Mont-Tremblant, I was standing at the top of the Zig Zag ski run when I painted my second painting.
I took a photo of you below that sign!
