Under the tree (autumn)
Posted: October 21, 2012 Filed under: Uncategorized 8 CommentsIt seems that all the hostas in my garden turned bright yellow, probably due to a hit by the first frost earlier in the week. In the springtime I did this very same scene and you can see it here.

Beautiful… so much light in this… I love it.
Thanks Elaine. There was no sun while I was painting but it came out right near the end so I added a few shadows. And it was pretty cold to paint outside today.
This looks sooo good! And so much like what I remember of the earlier version… you didn’t just Photoshop it, did you?
Yes, I Photoshopped it! Is it that obvious?
Actually, I checked to make sure that you didn’t before I made that outrageous suggestion. And then I forgot to put the smiley face at the end.
As well as many other differences between them, the light is more intense in this one… was that intentional?
I didn’t look at the first one until I finished the second one so I wasn’t trying to do anything different. I guess the light is just different outside today.
Can I buy this one? So beautiful! The play of light s absolutely delightful. Such skill of hand and eye. And I must say I love than special fall hosta yellow. Nothing else quite like it.
Yes, It’s yours if you want it. You’re right about the hosta. There is nothing quite like this yellow.
