Cases de l’Onyar
Posted: July 15, 2013 Filed under: Uncategorized 8 CommentsThese houses along the Onyar River in Girona date from the Middle Ages. I had seen them in a photo and had planned to sketch them but never imagined that something this picturesque would have hardly any vantage points. A cafe or a restaurant in a strategic spot would have been ideal but I stood on a bridge to draw this and then sat on the bridge to paint it.

Nice… so the beautiful sounds of Spanish guitars have been replaced by vehicle noises and exhaust fumes?
No, this was a pedestrian bridge.
Such bright, sun drenched, happy colours on these houses Shari, bringing joy 🙂
Out of curiosity, is that the beach in the bottom left corner triangle?
Thanks Mary. This was a bit of wall and then the river. No beaches here.
Lovely. The blue of the balcony windows and their tan sun shades make this sparkle for me. They drew my eye in to see and appreciate other details.
It’s like being in Venice with all those colours and shapes. So much fun to paint here Lee.
oh my!! The colors alone are such a feast!! This is just a lovely sketch!! One of your best!!
Thanks Peggy. It will look even better when I scan it upon my return.
