Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel
Posted: August 2, 2013 Filed under: Uncategorized 13 CommentsNotre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours means Our Lady of Good Help. I’m not really sure who helped us, but we had great weather for the first day of our Urban Sketchers workshop in Old Montreal. Marc was with half the group in Place d’Armes and I did a demo with my group at Place Jacques Cartier in the morning and from the Basin Bonsecours in the afternoon. We found a shady spot away from the crowds on the Square and in the afternoon, although you may not be able to see it in the photo, the students did some amazing sketches of the church, with proved to be a very difficult building to draw. Angles, curves, domes — it was a challenge. But if you have the patience to really look at how it is constructed and invest some time in the drawing, you reap rewards. I ended the day very pleased with their results.
KUDOS TO ALL !!

Wowieee! I enlarged the group picture and it looks as if your group got a lot from your teaching. Congratulations to you, teacher! And congrats to your class for being smart enough to choose your workshop. I am certain they all grew from it.
