Tumbling
Posted: October 5, 2013 Filed under: Uncategorized 21 CommentsThe array of local produce at this time of the year at the market in Pointe Claire Village is pretty spectacular, with pumpkins of every size tumbling out of bins and crates — some as small as apples and others that might need a forklift to be moved. As I sketched, one of the ladies who works there came over to have a look at my drawing and mentioned that it might be a good idea to come back tomorrow when they do the really big pumpkin display but I think I prefer the more random look of this one.
Love it! :))
Thanks Julia!
Those pumpkins are gorgeous, I am in love with markets atm!xx
Me too Joanna. I love sketching them.
Me too..love it!

This is an unusual and delightful composition. I admire your talent.

Beautiful. The perfect title, too.
Thanks Karen!
So refreshing!
One of the multiple pleasure of this beautiful season, and you have so much talent!
Thank you for sharing your art with us…
I appreciate your comments Johanne. Thanks so much.
Shari, the display is random, but your painting is composed beautifully.
Thanks Lee!
Love the composition and movement you created by zigzagging the viewers eyes through the painting. Very creative action for a still life!
Thanks Claudette. It was a very organic composition. I started with one pumpkin and went from there but sometimes things just work out well with no planning at all.
I adore all the line work in this one. The stuff in the background in the top right corner is very effective for setting the space – diminished size, detail and color intensity. Makes me wanna go to the farmers market.
