Under the desk

I heard howling winds outside my window all night, and woke up to a fine coating of snow on the ground. The snow eventually stopped, but the winds continued all day. Alice doesn’t like wind at all, so she spent the day trying to find places to hide in the house. A good spot for her is on her bed under my desk in my basement office. No wind down here and no rattling windows either. I sketched her using a beautifully soft 3B Technalo water-soluble pencil. I was intending to add some water to this but if I move, my model moves, so that never happened.

HAHAHA! I know well how that goes! The person UNDER the cat asks all others to bring them food and drinks or the TV remote because they are afraid to move and disturb the cat – it feels so good when they sleep on top of you! I see it as a privilege – I am sure they could careless, and for them we are just something soft, warm and safe to lay on, lol!

So peaceful. The simplicity of the lines and the conservative use of the soft water-soluble pencil perfectly conveys the sense of safety she feels in your presence. A lovely respite in the midst of Covid-19 and the wind storm for her and those of us who are peaking over your shoulder. Thank you for sharing this.

    Goode Morning dear friend Shari,

Very beautiful and looks quite natural
My pretty Miss Amber also tries to find a place to relax.
But finally lands under my PC desk.

In general these best friends of a man, don’t like noise or sound.

Miss. Amber even barks at us if she finds any of our family members talk loud than routine, discussing or argue and stops barking only when we stop.

One way this helps us very much to calm down or cool down reducing the altitude to zero.
We all feel very much grateful to her, for teaching us manners.

    Blessings
    Uma

    • Uma, I do love hearing about Miss Amber. It sounds like she is quite an important part of your family. I also like hearing about the stray dogs that you feed. Hope you are well.

        Good Afternoon dear friend Shari,

Apologies for my delay in responding.

Very true, without any exaggeration, she is an important member in our family, playing a major part in our life.

If there is no one to look after her in the house, and myself and my wife, together have to attend any function or party, but can not take Miss Amber, then I prefer to stay back at home, but never leave her alone in the house.

She likes and enjoys Car drive, resting the head on the side door with the screen opened looking at people and things, and also Motorcycle ride.

Once a week we both take her for One hour drive, round the locality.
Sometimes my sons take her on motor cycle for a ride and she enjoys a lot.

She is happy Shari by Gods grace and we are all happy.

        Regards and blessings
        Uma

It is a pleasure to see your line work!
Shows how important drawing is to the structure of a picture.
