Canada Malting Silos sketch

It was so much fun to sketch and chat with him this morning, even though I was hardly awake and hadn’t had nearly enough coffee. That was great. I had a different photo for some reason, i sketched that view.. great silo building. I once worked on a crew in Iowa, in the summer, building one of those.. interesting process.. Eileen

Eileen, so glad you watched. For some reason, on my screen, the comments froze and I was afraid that if I touched anything, I would lose Alvin. So I have no idea who was watching or if anyone asked questions. I can believe you worked to build one of these. It must have been amazing. I guess you had no time to sketch it too.
Using blue in the roadway. I would not think of that. Makes the painting much more lively
On a sunny day in the winter, the road always looks blue to me. I guess the bright blue sky reflects on the road and combined with the dark asphalt, it looks like Ultramarine.
It was a great way to start my day-just the incentive I needed to get some painting done myself. Loved the results of both pictures!

I watched some of this Shari! Great to hear the two of you chatting and to watch you both paint. A much more civilised time of day here in the UK!
Hi Tony, I slept really poorly the night before this, so I have no idea how I even painted but it was so much fun. Alvin is a really sweet guy and it was nice to chat. I wish I would have know you were there!

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that Silo before, is it near the Lacine Canal. Weird the little hut on top.
