Sketchers find each other

I’m a little jet lagged after arriving in Barcelona this afternoon but I really wanted to see some of the Urban Sketchers Symposium locations, especially the one where my workshop will be. I found the tiny street of Santa Ana and was looking for the entrance to the church when I bumped into my Australian friend and fellow sketcher Liz Steel! How is that possible? In a city of 1.6 million people and what seems like just as many tourists, it seems unlikely. Now maybe it’s the jet lag that is making me go all sentimental but this was pretty cool.
I managed to get a quick sketch done in the cloister of the church, which is as beautiful and tranquil as described in the guidebooks. And now I’m off to try a few tapas before my eyes close. More sketches tomorrow!

That’s so wonderful! I can’t wait for the workshop on saturday. it’s going to be a crazy week: on wednesday morning i’m presenting my final project for my B.F.A studies, and at noon I’m flying to Barcelona. I worked allot with scanning and photoshop and grown so tired of it by now, I can’t wait to go back to paper and watercolors. the triad colours and pallete are ready, looking forward to meet you!
