Without warning
Posted: January 21, 2014 Filed under: Uncategorized 8 CommentsWithout warning the power went out at my house this morning. On one of the coldest days of the year. When I ran out of all the other things I could do in a cold house, I decided to draw the culprits — the hydro guys transferring the wires from the old utility pole to the new one. What a day to have an outdoor job…

Since finding your blog and how cold its been I have been drawing things in my environment. This sketch inspires me to continue. Yesterday I drew a ball cap.
Keep on going Arnold. Draw a little something every day. I have drawn so many little things around the house, including a pile of mismatched socks.
Movement in this is really good. The interaction between two workers is ‘there’.
Would Hydro Quebec Corporate Communications want to purchase it?
It would be a great graphic for an intranet newsletter or other collateral.
Thanks Chris. Do you have any connections at Hydro Quebec? You could be my agent.
Love your work. You really capture the activity here. Hope the power is back on.
Thanks Nancy. It came back on after two hours. Just enough time to start getting cold but not long enough to throw pieces of furniture into the fireplace to stay warm.
Oh dear, Shari, creative but so cold without heat, and so cold with heat. We are now as cold as we can get, 0-6 below F.
We missed the snow, but the cold snap is here, and I am doing collage not paint.
Stay warm, and safe (from Upstate NYS).
You too Zoe. I hope it doesn’t get much colder where you are.
