Les vignes

This area is one of the Quebec’s most scenic, but the forecast is for rain for most of the week, so not sure how far I’ll get. After an early departure and a long drive, looking down at the grapevines and listening to the birds is about all I want to do on day one.

Beautiful place, where my brother resides, in Charlevoix. I was there last September, hiking to the top edge of the crater, and managed to do a quick sketch at the top before we returned down the trail. Enjoy, and wow, lots of places to paint quaint farm houses and rolling hills.

So Peri, you know how beautiful it is here. We probably won’t do any big hikes this time, but I have certainly hiked on previous trips so I know how spectacular it is. Yes, lots of places to paint for sure.

I loved this area when we visited a couple years ago. When we were in La Malbaie, I went to the P.O. to get my sketchbook stamped and met Jean-Pierre Leger who is a stained-glass artist with a studio in Les Epoulments. We also enjoyed visiting la papeterie St Gilles in Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive. You probably know about this but just thought I’d mention it. Hope the weather cooperates for you.
Wow, Paula, you must have had a wonderful time here. I certainly know la Papetrie St. Giles and have visited it in the past. I’m not sure I’ll make it this time, but they also sell the paper in local art store. The weather was rainy today but this area is still beautiful in the fog.
The Sketchbook
Perfect …. to be able to get away, the location and the beautiful (deceptively simple looking) calming sketch. Happy memories of wonderful views and staying at Auberge des Trois Canards. Looking forward to hopefully seeing more.
It is perfect here Tony. Auberge des Trois Canards is about a two minute drive from where we are. In pre-Covid times we may have even had dinner there, but not these days. Masks and restaurants are not a fun combination, are they?

Thanks so much. As for the pen, a Platinum Carbon Desk pen is actually a pen that is made to sit in a holder on your desk. That’s why it’s a ‘desk” pen!
