Before the rain

The morning started off hot and sunny (I set up on the shady side of my car), but then a heavy, humid air mass rolled in, the sky darkened and the air was still. My washes started off quite light, but as the humidity descended, my painting darkened too. Not long after I finished, the sky opened up, but by that time I was back in my car. Painted on a quarter sheet of Saunders CP 140lb paper.
You captured this well, Shari. I can hear those clouds rumbling.
Oh my, oh my Shari! You have absolutely captured the quality of the air and the light this morning. I can feel the boats lazily floating, hoping there will be a breeze one day soon so they can set sail.
